Preview Of The 2010 Lord Mayor’s Cup

As the Sydney Autumn Racing Carnival turns into its home straight, horse racing enthusiasts are looking to the capital of Queensland for the next showcase of fantastic racing in the Brisbane Winter Racing Carnival.

One of the highlights will be the Kirks Doomben Cup Raceday on the 22nd of May at the stunning Doomben Racecourse in Brisbane.

Considered the family day of the racing carnival, the racing card sees several fantastic races scheduled, including the $100,000 Group 3 Lord Mayor’s Cup (1615m).

Hosting quality local gallopers, the Lord Mayor’s Cup will see the starters compete under weight-for-age conditions over the 1,615 metres.

Also taking place on the 22nd of May at Doomben will be the headlining event – the $500,000 Group 1 Doomben Cup (2020m), the Group 2 Champagne Classic (1200m) and the Group 3 Doomben Roses (2020m).
